Thanks to Pantone, the latest color trend evokes tranquility which is perfect for Mother’s Day gifts. The Pantone Color Institute‘s announcement of not one but two colors for their Pantone Color of the Year was unprecedented this year. The harmonious pairing of two complimentary colors; Serenity and Rose Quartz makes for the prettiest color trend for 2016. Serenity, a soft blue representing the weightlessness and calming qualities of the sky; and Rose Quartz, a gentle tone that conveys compassion and a sense of composure. My full article appears in the Dallas Morning News this week with Pantone Color of the Year themed gift ideas from many of my favorite places in Dallas. But here’s a gallery below to get inspired and add a little zen and bliss in Mother’s Day gifts!
A weekend stay at Four Seasons Resort and Club Dallas where you’re pampered from the moment you wake up to a relaxing sunset in shades of Serenity and Rose Quartz is perfection. The Kids for All Seasons kids club keeps your children happily occupied with activities and sports while you treat yourself to a massage, or date night at the new farm-to-table restaurant LAW.
No time for a weekend away? Head to Hiatus Spa and Retreat for one of their relaxing treatments. Their award winning mani-pedi lets you practically float away in one of their zero gravity chairs. Try the SpaRitual “It’s Raining Men” which blends pearl blue with a shimmery pink.
DIRT Flowers, a bustling shop in hipster Bishop Arts District has gloriously unique blooms in their floral artistry. This Romeo and Juliet floral arrangement blends both blush and blues together into one stunning display.
A membership to the Dallas Arboretum gives Mom unlimited time to stroll around the breathtaking displays. Bring a picnic and just take in nature at it’s prettiest.
Kate Weiser is known for her world class truffles. But this Mother’s Day, Kate Weiser Chocolate features a special Sundae Social just for your special mama. Weiser’s ice cream flavors are just as inventive as her handmade chocolates. Think, roasted rhubarb ice-cream, strawberry sherbet, brown butter streusel crumble cake, rhubarb compote topped with toasted meringue, a strawberry mini macaron and a blue chocolate garnish.
Whether it’s just one macaron or a whole tower, Bisous Bisous Patisserie‘s flavors of the month “Earl Grey” and “Rose” are a sweet treat. Pair it with a glass of chilled Rose wine from Provence, France and you have afternoon tea all set.
If Mom hasn’t had much time to do shopping lately, a day with a personal stylist at Neiman Marcus may be fun. The personal shopping service is complimentary and you can ask your personal shopper to pull out all the items for you to try beforehand. From feminine dresses, to bags, shoes to make up, there’s a ton of items at Neiman Marcus that fits this current Pantone trend. I’d recommend making a day of it and having a ladies lunch at The Zodiac, a facial or get your hair done. End the shopping experience with a makeover at your favorite cosmetic counter and you’ll leave looking like a million bucks!
My last gift suggestion is a handmade one. I always say, a handmade present is best. For moms who love a gift specially crafted for her, how about a commission piece by local artist, Christopher Martin?
