Who doesn’t smile at the sight of pie? Lucky for us, Emporium Pies has two convenient locations (Oak Cliff and McKinney) to pick up their scrumptious baked pies. Their holiday pies right now, like Father Christmas (peppermint cream pie with chocolate cookie crust) and Buttermilk Blitzen (classic buttermilk cream pie with a chai spiced blend) are just the sweet spot for any holiday party. Our Itty Bitty Foodies cannot walk past their storefront without a slice of Smooth Operator (French silk chocolate filling in a salted pretzel crust).
Kate Weiser Chocolate at Trinity Grove doesn’t just sell chocolates. They are edible pieces of art. Our boys love going in and watching Kate work her magic with melted chocolate in the open kitchen. The truffles are delectable with exotic flavors like passionfruit and fun flavors like buttery popcorn made with white sweet corn ganache and fleur de sel salt. But truffles aside, she also makes some of the best French macarons in town. All the little indulgences come beautifully boxed up.
The artisanal line of fruit forward jams blended cleverly with wine and spirits is a great one for teacher gifts and hostess gifts. The jams are made the old fashion way with whole fruit and are so delicious we eat it right out of the jar. The jams pair wonderfully with cheeses (Mozzarella Company is also offering a cheese gift pack with Jammit! Jam) and you can elevate your dish by adding a spoonful to sauces or even as an ice cream topping. Six available flavors like blueberry star anise merlot, apple cinnamon bourbon or raspberry chili shiraz. There’s a six-jar sample pack available too for those who want to try a little of everything.
Subscription boxes are so popular now but wine clubs have been doing this for years. What a fun way to surprise the wine lover in your life with a package every two or three months (depending on the membership level). They make good gifts for bosses too; a nice way to remind your boss all year round what good taste you have. The wines are specially curated from all over the world with a price point ($15-25 per bottle) that can be enjoyed at every occasion. There are no membership fees and levels start at $44.95 for a 3 bottle shipment.
