NOTE: DUE TO RAIN the Chefs For Farmers Butcher’s Block party on Saturday October 24th, 2015 will now be held at eM The Venue at 1500 Dragon St, Suite D. The Culinary Village event on Sunday October 25, 2015 has been moved to Gilley’s at 1135 South Lamar St.


We are so excited about Chefs For Farmers coming up next weekend. What began with a simple dinner on a farm has matured into one of the most popular food and drink events in Texas. In its fourth year, Chefs For Farmers returns October 23-25, 2015 to showcase the best of Dallas and of Texas, while welcoming chefs and culinary ambassadors from around the country to come collaborate and celebrate the city we love. Chefs For Farmers’ mission is to bring chefs, artisans, and culinary influencers together to celebrate supporting local and regional farmers at a three-day culinary blowout.

Based on the success of the past events and the excitement surrounding the thriving dining scene in Dallas, Chefs For Farmers is transitioning from a one-day, stand-alone event to a three-day food festival by adding a nine-course Guest Chef Dinner at FT33 featuring chefs Matt McCallister, Scott Crawford, and Justin Brunson on Friday, October 23; The Butcher Block Party, the signature Saturday night event at the The Eye at The Joule Hotel; and ending with the grand finale, the Culinary Village at Lee Park on Sunday, October 25.

This year, the new Butcher Block Party is a carnivore’s haven. The 500 person event will feature a butcher theme, made with all local Texas meat. Fill up on dishes such as:

  • A candied bacon line, hung by clothing pins, by Chef John Tesar of Knife and Oak
  • Vietnamese beef heart and sirloin tartar on a shrimp puff by Chef Justin Brunson of Old Major in Denver
  • Stuffed deck neck sausage with brown beer mustard, by Chef Steve McHugh of CURED in San Antonio
  • Holiday ham ice cream with clove-caramelized pineapple and brown sugar streusel by Chef Danyele McPherson of Remedy in Dallas

Chefs for Farmers Culinary Village at Lee Park

The Culinary Village at Lee Park continues to be Dallas’ most delicious picnic featuring 40 chefs, 40 farms and food artisans, and 35 wineries throughout the space. There will also be an Infiniti Lounge with charcuterie by Chef Matt McCallister and FT33, a Biscuit Bar, a Seafood Station, a Local Beer Garden. The event features live music including Chef Dean Fearing and his band Sunset Palace, DJ Bryan C., DJ S.O.U.L.Jah, and more!

For a little fun, attendees will get to channel their inner Gordon Ramsey and get to judge and vote for their favorite dish at both The Butcher Block Party You and the Culinary Village at Lee Park. The winner at Lee Park will share a cash prize with their farmer of choice.


  • A portion of the proceeds goes directly to participating farmers! Additionally, 100% of the sale of Kevin Marple Photography’s signature 2015 Chefs for Farmers posters will go to Café Momentum.
  • Each year Chefs For Farmers chooses Honorees who embody the heart and passion of the farm-to-table movement and make a difference in our community.  This year’s Honorees include Chad Houser from Café Momentum; J. T. Lemley from Lemley Produce and Plant Farm; Brian McCullough from The Standard Pour; Kim Pierce, a freelance food journalist; Mico Rodriguez from Mesero Restaurants; Christopher Zielke from Turn the Tables Hospitality, LLC; and Karl and Nancy Falster of Falster Farm.

The expanded weekend gives us more reasons to celebrate, to raise awareness, and to give back to the farmers we love and to Café Momentum whom we greatly support. “We are beyond excited about the growth of Chefs For Farmers, and are thrilled to add new events to the schedule, along with bringing in some of the country’s hottest chefs, and several new amazing sponsors,” stated Iris McCallister, co-founder of Chefs For Farmers. “Our goal is to bring attention on a national level to chefs who focus on quality and use their local artisans and farmers to deliver a superior and thoughtful dining experience to their patrons.”
